PrayHabit ("we", "our", or "us") operates the PrayHabit mobile application (the "App"). This Privacy Policy explains how we collect, use, and protect your information when you use our App.
1. Information We Collect
Information You Provide
- Name: Your first name, used to personalize your experience within the App.
- Spiritual and emotional state: Your responses about your relationship with God and how you are feeling, used to generate personalized prayers.
- Prayer times and preferences: Your configured prayer schedule and repeat days.
- Age range and denomination: General demographic information provided during onboarding.
Information Collected Automatically
- Usage data: Basic analytics about how you interact with the App, collected through Singular Analytics and PostHog, including app opens and feature usage.
- Device identifiers: An anonymous identifier for vendor (IDFV) used for analytics purposes.
- Subscription status: Information about your subscription managed through RevenueCat.
- Advertising data: Anonymous device identifiers and ad interaction data collected by Google AdMob for ad serving purposes.
2. How We Use Your Information
- To generate personalized prayers using the Google Gemini API based on your spiritual and emotional state.
- To track your prayer streaks, path progress, and analytics.
- To save your prayer history in your personal prayer diary.
- To manage your scheduled time preferences and app-blocking preferences.
- To process and manage your subscription.
- To improve the App and understand usage patterns.
3. Screen Time and FamilyControls
PrayHabit uses Apple's Screen Time and FamilyControls framework to block selected apps during your scheduled times. This integration:
- Only activates the apps you explicitly select for blocking.
- Does not transmit your app usage data to our servers or any third party.
- App selection data is stored locally on your device and managed by Apple's framework.
- Blocking is automatically disabled after you complete your prayer.
4. Third-Party Services
We use the following third-party services:
- Google Gemini API: To generate personalized prayers. Your spiritual and emotional state responses (not your name or personal details) are sent to generate prayer content.
- Google AdMob: To display advertisements to free-tier users. AdMob may collect device identifiers, IP address, and ad interaction data to serve personalized or non-personalized ads. See Google's privacy policy.
- RevenueCat: To manage subscriptions and in-app purchases. RevenueCat processes purchase data in accordance with their privacy policy.
- Singular: For analytics and attribution. Singular collects anonymous usage data in accordance with their privacy policy.
- PostHog: For product analytics. PostHog collects anonymous usage data in accordance with their privacy policy.
5. Advertising
The free version of the App displays banner advertisements powered by Google AdMob. Please note:
- Paid subscribers do not see advertisements.
- AdMob may use device identifiers and other data to serve personalized or non-personalized ads.
- You can opt out of personalized advertising via your device settings (iOS: Settings > Privacy & Security > Apple Advertising).
- We do not control the content of third-party advertisements displayed in the App.
6. Data Storage
Your personal data — including your name, prayer diary entries, scheduled times, streak data, and preferences — is stored locally on your device using AsyncStorage. We do not store this data on our servers.
Prayer generation requests are processed in real time through our API and are not stored after the prayer is delivered to you.
7. Data Sharing
We do not sell or rent your personal information. Information may be shared with the third-party services listed in Section 4 to provide the App's functionality, including serving advertisements to free-tier users.
8. Data Retention
Since your data is stored locally on your device, it persists until you delete the App or clear the App's data. We do not retain your personal data on our servers.
9. Children's Privacy
The App is not intended for children under the age of 13. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children under 13. If you believe a child has provided us with personal information, please contact us so we can take appropriate action.
10. Your Rights
You can:
- Delete your data at any time by uninstalling the App.
- Update your name and scheduled time preferences within the App's settings.
- Manage or cancel your subscription through the App Store.
11. Changes to This Policy
We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. We will notify you of any significant changes by updating the effective date at the top of this page.
